About me

Hi there,

my name is Bettina, and I love to do crafts. Mostly sewing, but also some knitting and occasionally crocheting.

mein Name ist Bettina und ich handarbeite für mein Leben gern. Hauptsächlich nähe ich, aber manchmal sind auch gestrickte und gehäkelte Stücke dabei.

As a little girl I used to sneak to my mother's sewing machine and make clothes for my barbie dolls. They were not pretty!
Fast forward to when I was about 18. I joined a dirndl sewing class: that was actually the first garment I made. What can I say, I love a good challenge :-)
Since then I've been sewing - sometimes more, sometimes less. It's definitely something I love to do, but in no way do I make all my clothes myself. I prefer to sew for special occasions: making fancy dresses, historic gowns or sewing something out of a great fabric I stumbled upon.

Als kleines Mädchen bin ich immer zur Nähmaschine meiner Mutter geschlichen und habe Kleider für meine Barbies genäht - Gott sei Dank hab ich seit dem ein bisschen dazugelernt!
Als ich 18 war, habe ich bei einem Dirndlnähkurs mitgemacht - das war tatsächlich das erste Kleidungsstück das ich gemacht habe. Ich mag eben Herausforderungen ;-)
Seit damals nähe ich, mal mehr mal weniger. Ich mache das gerne, aber ich nähe bei weitem nicht alle meine Kleidung selbst. Es macht mir mehr Spaß, für besondere Anlässe zu nähen: Tolle Abendkleider, historische Kostüme oder ein Rock aus DEM perfekten Stoff.

In real life, I live in a small town in Austria together with my boyfriend J. I'm an optical engineer working for a company producing car headlamps. I like to photograph, and a lot of my spare time is spent with my icelandic horse Skáti. That's the boy:

Mein offline-Leben verbringe ich in einer kleinen Stadt in Österreich, wo ich gemeinsam mit meinem Freund J wohne. Ich arbeite als Optikentwicklerin in der Automobilindustrie, ich fotografiere gerne und einen großen Teil meiner Freizeit verbringe ich bei meinem Islandpferd Skáti:
